About Us
Marathon Seafood Restaurant, located just past the Bass River Bridge on Route 28, has been a family favorite of locals and summer visitors for over 20 years. Opened in 1983 by Teddy and Peggy Stoilas, and still owned and operated by that genial couple today, Marathon welcomes everyone with its homey interior and friendly service. Visitors from outside Cape Cod — and even from outside the US — return year after year, and the restaurant remains a local landmark for residents during the off-season.
Everything on the menu is homemade and we pride ourselves on serving only the freshest seafood. Our fried clams, shrimps and haddock are always served piping hot from the kitchen to the customer. The portions are huge — all the main platters come with a generous heaping of fries and onion rings — and you can substitute sides to make your meal exactly as you want it. The famous, creamy clam chowder is made from scratch every day by Peggy herself and Teddy has a secret recipe for everything from the salad dressing to the onion rings.
In addition to the signature fried delicacies, there are also healthy broiled seafood entrées as well as grilled options, including tasty hamburgers, steaks and chicken. There are also Greek specialities, like Teddy’s own souvlaki and baklava, as well as a wide selection of beers and wine. The choices are extensive and there is even a special menu for kids, all at a reasonable price.
Only 10 minutes from the beach, the Marathon is the perfect spot for lunch or dinner for vacationing families. There is plenty of room for everyone in our spacious dining room lined with hanging vine plants. Eat inside where it is fully air-conditioned for those days you can’t beat the summer heat or on the outdoor patio for those days you don’t want to! The laid back atmosphere and smiling service makes for a comfortable and down-to-earth dining experience any time of year.
